West Chester, Ohio, USA; September 2025 - Color-Logic, the global leader in color management and metallic printing technology, is pleased to announce that the newly released Adobe PDF Print Engine 7 adds new support for the Color-Logic workflow, particularly for printing with white ink or toner and CMYK on metallic stocks. This advancement enhances the ability of printers and designers to create stunning metallic effects with unmatched efficiency and precision.
Adobe PDF Print Engine 7, which was announced on May 6, 2025, includes a new feature which specifically supports the Color-Logic workflow and is designed for metallic substrates. This new capability eliminates the need for a designer to manually create a white mask. By integrating seamlessly with the Color-Logic System™, this feature streamlines workflows and enhances productivity for printers worldwide.
The Color-Logic Design Suite™, fully compatible with Adobe Creative Cloud 2025, enables designers to create metallic effects and embellishments in seconds using automated palettes and plug-ins. When paired with Adobe PDF Print Engine 7 in-RIP capabilities, printers can achieve predictable, high-quality results across a range of printing processes, including both digital and offset. This synergy ensures that the 924 metallic colors and unlimited embellishments available in the Color-Logic system are rendered with precision, enhancing brand appeal and market differentiation. Combining the innovative Color-Logic tools and Adobe advanced RIP technology provides a robust solution for producing premium metallic prints with our mutual OEM partners.

RIP Developers Recognize Color-Logic Importance
22/09/22 12:18
West Chester, Ohio, USA; September 2022—The importance and utility of Color-Logic in the printing industry is widely recognized by RIP (Raster Image Processor) developers as the preferred method of producing metallic images and special effects. Discussing the matter, Mark Geeves, Color-Logic Director of Sales and Marketing, said: "In digital printing, a RIP serves as the interface between the Digital Front End (DFE) and the print engine. Because of differences in print engines and DFEs, each digital press installation needs a RIP that has been specifically tailored to connect between the DFE and print engine being used. As of mid-2022, specific features have been made available by almost all RIP manufacturers to enable printers to use Color-Logic in their workflows. The fact that these RIP developers have made Color-Logic available to users of nearly every digital press and printer manufacturer worldwide speaks to the widespread popularity of the Color-Logic metallic color system."
Geeves continued: "The RIP developers providing a specific connection for the Color-Logic system now include Caldera, CGS, ColorGate, Compose, EFI, Ergosoft, Equios, Global Graphics, GMG, Heidelberg Versafire, Onyx, RTI-RIPs, SAI, Wasatch, and Xitron. All of these manufacturers offer Color-Logic connectivity to most of the digital presses and printers around the world. Color-Logic works closely with these and other manufacturers providing equipment capable of printing metallics using silver inks or toners on conventional substrates as well as those producing images with white ink or toner on metallic substrates. More than 75 digital presses and printers worldwide use Color-Logic to produce the sparkling metallics so popular with brands and commercial customers."
