Color-Logic Certifies Polyart Double-Sided Substrates

West Chester, Ohio, USA; March 2022—Color-Logic has certified two Polyart Ultrametal Dual-Sided substrates--a 125 GSM and a 360 GSM version--for use on Ricoh Pro C7200 series presses. Discussing the certification, Richard Ainge, Color-Logic CTO and CoFounder, said: "The surface of the Polyart Ultrametal Silver substrate is unique in that the metallic effect is created by embedding specialized metallic pigments in the coating. This coating offers a matte, nonconductive surface with outstanding printability on the Ricoh press. Polyart--a merger of substrate-makers Arjobex, MDV, Tech Folien and Reisewitz--is rolling out their line of specialty substrates around the world. Polyart film and paper solutions are targeted at the specialty label market (industrial, decorative and security), as well as digital printing and the display market. Two-sided substrates are particularly useful when printing items such as brochures, direct mail pieces, countersigns, business cards, catalogs, book or magazine covers, tickets, and greeting cards that must be seen from either side. Color-Logic Certifies Two New HP Latex Printers

West Chester, Ohio, USA; March 2021— Color-Logic has announced its certification of two new Latex printers being offered by HP. Commenting on the certification, Mark Geeves, Color-Logic Director of Sales and Marketing, said: "The HP Latex 700 W and 800 W--two machines with the white ink necessary for producing Color-Logic metallics--provide a ready solution for customers interested in using metallic substrates on the latest, printer with water-based ink available."

Geeves continues: "The HP Latex 700 W and 800 W printers produced outstanding Color-Logic certification test sheets, and are appropriate for label and package proofing, as well as short-run production of these items, signage, and point-of-sales materials. Color-Logic Celebrates Ten Years of Making Metallics Manageable

West Chester, Ohio, USA; June 2019—In early 2009, into the teeth of the most severe recession ever suffered by the printing industry, Color-Logic introduced its Process Metallic Color System--the only graphic design software package that simplifies and standardizes metallic print production, creating foil printing using white ink/toner or silver ink/toner. Since that 2009 introduction, the Color-Logic system has remained affordable and easy for both conventional and digital printers to implement. A key Color-Logic feature links printers with graphic designers and brand managers, making them partners in the successful execution of metallic designs.

Color-Logic was developed by Chief Technology Officer Richard Ainge and Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Geeves, both of whom remain active in the company. Today Color-Logic is supported by virtually every digital printing press manufacturer offering white ink/toner or silver ink/toner. Color-Logic has consistently worked with press, substrate, and coating technology partners around the world and has evolved with process and equipment technologies.

After ten years, Color-Logic has installations in more than 50 countries, and in the past three years some 90 percent of Color-Logic sales have occurred outside the United States. In 2019, sales to printers with digital presses are expected for the first time to exceed those to conventional printers. Labels and packaging are particularly strong markets and consistently demonstrate a speedy return on investment in Color-Logic. For printers using any process, Color-Logic offers educational videos and easy-to-follow training that enable designers to quickly understand the technology and use it to produce metallic files that are consistently reproducible without seemingly endless trial-and-error.

Color-Logic Certifies EFI Fiery DFE for Xerox® IridesseTM Press

West Chester, OH; October 2018—Color-Logic has certified the Xerox EX-P 6 Print Server Powered by Fiery® for the Xerox Iridesse Production Press. Discussing the certification, Color-Logic Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Geeves said: "The latest Xerox product enhancements and the new Xerox Iridesse press--shown at PRINT 18 in Chicago--enable graphic designers using the Color-Logic Process Metallic System to differentiate their products in ways previously unseen in print. The latest Xerox developments, combined with the Fiery DFE, provide printers with a platform that can truly differentiate digital print from conventional. Not only is the new Xerox Iridesse press a superb example of workflow automation in print, it enables graphic designers using the Color-Logic tools to take advantage of the latest silver and white dry inks from Xerox."

Richard Ainge, Color-Logic Chief Technology Officer, also commenting on the demonstrations at PRINT 18, said: "Time-to-market is critical today, and
embellishments require longer at the design and concept stage than ever before. At Color-Logic, we worked with Fiery developers to ensure that Color-Logic files may be processed quickly. Graphic designers preparing files for use on the Xerox Iridesse can use our design tools for Adobe CC and CS and be confident that the press will produce their files exactly when using the Fiery DFE. With our design tools, creatives can produce dramatic decorative effects in just seconds, while eliminating the guesswork and trial-and-error typical of metallic file preparation."

John Henze, vice president of Fiery marketing and sales at EFI, said "We're proud to collaborate with Color-Logic to leverage their exclusive technology and unique Fiery capabilities so that customers can easily create and print brilliant, high-value metallic files on the Xerox Iridesse."
