PaperSpecs PRO Members Briefed by Color-Logic on Fluorescents in Design

West Chester, Ohio, USA; April 2021— Color-Logic CoFounder and CTO, Richard Ainge, who also developed the Touch7 Neon process, recently briefed PRO Members of PaperSpecs on the power of the new fluorescent inks available on the latest digital presses. Said Ainge regarding the briefing: "Touch7 was developed five years ago for conventional and digital presses, but as more digital presses with fluorescent inks become available, graphic designers often find themselves unclear about the potential and the pitfalls of fluorescents. We provided the PaperSpecs PRO Members with an overview of color gamut expansion, the various print engines available, and the design software now on the market. OEM color guides available from press manufacturers were also described."

PaperSpecs Founder and CEO Sabine Lenz, commenting on the briefing, said: "PaperSpecs PRO members were entranced by the presentation, and suggested that material from the Color-Logic fluorescents briefing should be part of every design school curriculum." Said one audience participant: "I gained a significantly deeper understanding of the technical side of fluorescent design and how to enhance color intensity."

Color-Logic Simplifies MetallicVariable Data Printing

West Chester, Ohio, USA; April 2021— Digital printing is rapidly gaining market share around the world--often because digital presses can easily print variable data. Many printers choose digital presses because of their ability to easily print variable data. And now, with Color-Logic, the variable data benefits of the latest presses are available when printing with white ink or toner on a metallic stock.

Commenting on the use of white ink on metallic substrate, Color-Logic Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Geeves said: "Working with white ink or toner on a metallic substrate requires that the graphic designer or prepress operator prepare a white ink mask as part of the digital file set. With digital variable data printing, each page requires a unique white ink mask. Except with Color-Logic! The proprietary Color-Logic software automatically creates each different white ink mask, eliminating the extra labor, and making the labor cost of variable data printing on metallic substrate no more expensive than on conventional substrate."

Discussing the financial implications for digital printers, Geeves continued: "When used to prepare files for printing variable data jobs on digital presses, Color-Logic is a real game changer. Metallic variable data printing on presses with white ink/toner and a RIP that supports the Color-Logic file format opens up an entirely new value proposition for licensed Color-Logic printers and their clients. To assist current Color-Logic technology partners and dealers, we recently developed a video showing how it quickly and easily metallic variable data files can be prepared using Adobe Illustrator and the Color-Logic design suite palettes. We make available the artwork and sample data sets so Color-Logic licensees can produce the files themselves to show their clients."
